“Lord Devaleh!” he cringed inwardly at the sound of Tara’s voice—he had been hoping to avoid spending any time at all in her company outside of Tyelah’s presence—but turned now to face her as she approached, greeting her warily,
“Hello, Highness.” She smiled coyly.
“Such formality.” She quipped. “I was hoping to speak with you.” He shook his head, fighting an urge to glance about as he replied in a low voice.
“I do not believe that to be wise, Tara.”
“Oh come, Devaleh.” She returned, taking a step closer to him, “I wish only to talk. There is no need for us to spend the next fortnight avoiding one another. That, above all else, would raise suspicion, no?”
He considered this for a moment. Seeing his hesitation, she went on hastily,
“A few moments, Ali. What harm?” At last, feeling as though he were yet making a mistake, he nodded, indicating the library across the corridor.
“Very well.” He gave her a look. “Very briefly.” Together they moved into the room. Almost reluctantly, he shut the door before seating himself gingerly on the edge of a chair…as far from her as possible, regarding her with an air of waiting. She gazed back at him silently for a moment, before beginning,

Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You’ll learn from them- if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It’s a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn’t education. It’s history. It’s poetry.
